Michael has been playing trumpet professionally in New York's Capital District for the last 8 years, and is one of the youngest, most active trumpet players in the area. Michael's playing has taken him all over the northeastern United States and Europe. Michael has studied music at Schenectady County Community College and The College of Saint Rose. He has held Lead and Principal positions with various performing ensembles at Colleges and Universities around the Capital District. Michael has played with The Refrigerators, The New York Players, City Rhythm, Body and Soul, The Georgie Wonders Orchestra, Vehicle, Nite Train, The Capital Region Wind Ensemble, The Silver and Gold Brass Quintet and has played and recorded with The Joey Thomas Big Band and the Empire Jazz Orchestra, including performances with jazz greats Wycliffe Gordon and Rufus Reid. He has been a member of pit orchestras for a number of area musical productions. Michael can be heard on Colleen Pratt's latest album with the Empire Jazz Orchestra "I Thought About You", as well as British recording artist John Garrison's recent United States solo debut album, "Above the Cosmos". As of May 30th, 2010, Michael is playing lead trumpet in the show band on the Royal Caribbean Voyager of the Seas.
